Founded in 1913 in Belgium, Leonidas is one of the world’s most iconic chocolate brands. Renowned for its artisanal expertise and the quality of its ingredients, the brand was built on a simple promise: to make premium chocolate accessible to as many people as possible.
Today, Leonidas has more than 1,200 retail locations in some 50 countries, and remains deeply committed to its Belgian heritage and the tradition of fresh chocolate.
The brand is particularly well known for its assorted chocolate boxes, true symbols of sharing and indulgence.
It is in this context that the franchise Leonidas Bonheurs entrusted us with the creation of its e-commerce platform to offer its customers a digital experience that matches the quality of its products.
The Project in a Nutshell
The project includes:
• Development of a robust and scalable WordPress + WooCommerce e-commerce site
• Creation of a fully customizable “Create Your Own Gift Box” page
• Implementation of an in-store pickup system suitable for multiple retail locations
• Creation of a premium design that respects Leonidas’ heritage and brand image

The Challenge
Before we got involved, several obstacles were holding back the franchise’s digital development.
On the one hand, the retailer did not have any truly scalable online sales channel, which limited sales to in-store traffic.
Furthermore, standard e-commerce solutions did not allow customers to replicate Leonidas’s signature experience: creating their own assortment of chocolates.
Finally, the team needed a tool that was easy to manage on a day-to-day basis and that would allow them to:
• Manage products
• Update inventory
• manage multiple stores
• Track orders
…without having to constantly rely on a developer.
Our Solution
A Custom E-Commerce Architecture
We developed the platform using WordPress and WooCommerce to ensure flexibility, scalability, and ease of administration.
In particular, the site’s structure allows for:
• managing multiple stores for order pickup
• easy navigation between the different categories (chocolates, assortments, gift boxes, seasonal collections)
• a seamless and optimized shopping experience

A unique product experience: “Create Your Own Assortment”
We’ve designed a custom interactive page that allows customers to create their own box of chocolates.
Users can:
• Choose the size of the box
• Select each piece of chocolate individually
• view price changes in real time
• Add a personalized message
This feature recreates the in-store shopping experience online, while adding a fun and personalized touch.

A simple back-office system for managing stores
We have set up a WordPress and WooCommerce environment that allows the team to easily manage:
• Products and Prices
• inventory
• pickup locations
• seasonal promotions or collections
The goal: to give customers complete autonomy in the day-to-day management of their e-commerce business.
